B12 - again
Two months after submitting my referral letter, I was finally allowed to see a doctor at the hospital yesterday.
My mom had very kindly offered to go with me, not to hold my hand but to keep me company and an extra set of ears is always handly when your given lots of info...
We talked to the doctor for about half an hour, and he performed some tests (blood pressure etc). I also had to have some blood drawn for new blood tests. The next appointment is set for 2 weeks from now, to discuss the results from the blood tests and come up with a treatment plan.
At least there's progress!

Visiting a wharf
Ahum...
One of the things that is mentioned in our PAP (Personal Achievement Plan) is a week-long 'internship' at another department within the Bank.
Since I took a course in shipping and transport last year, and dealt with "vessel-transactions" frequently up until recently, it seemed a logical choice to visit our Shipping Unit.
I had already contacted them a few months ago and they were happy to have me over and show me around.
This week was especially interesting since the department had their end-of-quarter meeting to discuss the previous quarter and brainstorm about the next one.
Besides the afternoon meeting, there was a visit to a wharf scheduled in the morning. At this particular wharf, 8 ships are being built at the moment. Very cool to see them in different stages of readiness and all-in-all a unique experience because the wharf is normally not accessible to the general public.
The wharf was located in Heusden, a very charming old town. We walked around town for a while too, ooh-ing and aah-ing at all the gorgeous old buildings. Definitely a place to visit again some time in Summer!
Since I wanted to be back in time for Chinese class, I left before dinner. It proved very difficult to leave Noord-Brabant - there were hardly any signs mentioning Rotterdam! And since I don't have GPS in my car yet...
Anyways, it took me all of 2 hrs (!) to get to the Community College, and fortunately I was only 15 min. late. In my absent-mindedness I forgot to lock my car, which I didn't notice until I got back to it after class... Luckily it was still there... (Phew!)

Knabbel meets the gang
After a week's quarantine, in which Knabbel regularly stretched herself to the max in order to look at the other girls, it was finally time for the Big Meeting yesterday.
Fortunately everything went well, and she was accepted into the herd without any problems (although she was shown her hierarchical rank on occassion...)
Knabbel herself was very happy to meet the rest after such a lonely week!

Justin & Beyonce

Design Your Life - week 5 + 6

I'm not entirely caught up yet with the assignments, but the advantage of taking an online class is that you get to work at your won pace.
The theme for week 5 was Space and the theme for week 6 was Unity.

New girl on the block
Dus tádáá: hier is Knabbel!
The herd is complete again: yesterday I got a new cavy-girl!
Although I wanted to get a redhaired cavy, I thought this one was so cute that I caved on the spot... (I admit it usually doesn't take much for me to cave hahaha).
According to the petshop-lady, she's a feisty little thing (good! *LOL*), and since she was constantly nibbling on my scarf while I held her at the store, I've decided to call this latest addition 'Knabbel' (which translates as 'Nibble').
So, tádáá: meet Knabbel!

Sad
Triest.
Yesterday I read a small article in the newspaper: last Tuesday, one of my favorite authors, Michael Crichton, died at age 66. From cancer.
So sad.
