Rondje rond de auto gelopen, en ja hoor, de deur aan de passagierskant was geforceerd. De centrale deurvergrendeling deed het nog, maar het slot hing er maar een beetje bij...
Stap 1: zaak gebeld dat ik wél zou komen werken, maar iets later zou zijn (ze zullen wel gedacht hebben: die heeft altijd wat!)
Stap 2: aangifte gedaan bij de politie ivm de verzekering
Stap 3: naar het autoschadebedrijf voor een offerte (ca. EUR 1300,00) / afspraak (over 3 weken pas)/ noodreparatie (meteen)
Stap 4: de auto achtergelaten bij het autoschadebedrijf en te voet naar de metro (gelukkig niet zo ver)
Stap 5: m'n vader op z'n werk gebeld om m'n verhaal te doen (tsja ik ben nu eenmaal een papa's kindje - dàt, en m'n moeder nam thuis niet op ;) )
Stap 6: op m'n werk naar de vergadering die stond gepland en gelukkig nog maar net was begonnen.
Stap 7: na de vergadering de autoverzekering gebeld om de schade te melden. Ik kreeg nog een compliment ook omdat ik eraan had gedacht om eerst aangifte te doen ;)
Zoals het er nu naar uitziet zal de schade dus zo'n EUR 1300,00 bedragen. Waarschijnlijk moet de hele zijportier worden vervangen, want het slot is flink gemolesteerd. Het goede nieuws is dat alles gedekt wordt door de verzekering, en ik zelfs niet terugga qua no-claim. Maar als je nagaat dat m'n autoradio waarschijnlijk maar zo'n EUR 20 oplevert op de zwarte markt, is het nog best een duur grapje...
Maar weet je, het is natuurlijk ontzettend balen, maar uiteindelijk is het slechts een DING.

Walked around the car to investigate and sure enough, the door on the passerger's side was forced open. The lock itself still worked, but the bit in which you insert the key was dangling by a thread...
Step 1: called the office to say that, yes, I would be there, but it would take me awhile to get there (they must have thought: it's always something with her!)
Step 2: went to the police station to file a report for insurance purposes.
Step 3: went to the car repair place for an estimate (approx. EUR 1300,00) / appointment (in 3 weeks) / emergency repair to the lock (in the course of the day)
Step 4: left the car at the repair place and walked to the subway (luckily not that far)
Step 5: called my dad at work to tell the story (yes, I'm a daddy's girl. THAT, and my mom didn't answer the phone at home ;) )
Step 6: went straight to the meeting that was scheduled at work. Fortunately it had only just started.
Step 7: called the insurance company after the meeting was over to report the damage. They even complimented me on having already taken all the right steps, including filing a police report :)
It looks like the damage will be around EUR 1300,00. The entire passengers door will probably need to be replaced, due to the damage around the lock. The good news is that my insurance company will cover everything, and my insurance payment won't get higher (which worried me a bit). But if you consider that my car radio will probably fetch no more than EUR 20 on the black market, it's still quite a high price...
On the other hand, of course it sucks, but at the end of the day, it's only a THING.
