Toen ik gisteren mijn post van de afgelopen 2 weken doorspitte zat er een brief van de gemeente bij. Mijn bezwaar is afgewezen. Waarom? Omdat het kaartje LINKSBOVEN achter de voorruit zat en niet RECHTSONDER. Dit verzin ik dus niet hè!?! *ZUCHT*
(ik kan deze regel overigens nergens terugvinden op het parkeerkaartje of de boete - dus hoe moet je nou zoiets weten???)
Dus... toch maar betaald (de acceptgiro was inmiddels ook binnen). Want je kunt wel naar de rechter gaan om het aan te vechten, maar ik heb zo'n idee dat me dat méér dan EUR 53,40 gaat kosten... Maar ik vind het nog steeds ontzettend ONTERECHT. Echt ongelofelijk.
2 Days before I went on vacation the the States, I got a parking ticket. Even though I had paid, like any good citizen would do, and had the receipt to prove it too.
So I mailed out an notice of objection the very next day (it's not like I had anything better to do at that time - RIGHT?), including a copy of my receipt and photographic evidence that I had indeed posted the receipt behind windshield of my car.
When I got home yesterday and went through the mail from the last 2 weeks, I came across a letter from the City. My objection was rejected. Why? Because the ticket was in the UPPER LEFT corner and should have been in the LOWER RIGHT corner of the windshield. I swear I did not make this up. *SIGH*
(BTW - I checked the receipt and the parking ticket and neither states anything about the location where the receipt should be posted behind the windshield)
So... I went ahead and paid the ticket anyway. I could have appealed, brought it to court and all, but I have a feeling that would cost me a lot more than the EUR 53,40 of this ticket... But I still feel that this is so ultimately bureaucratic and UNJUST. Absolutely unbelievable.
